It’s that time of year where we love RUNNING to the mailbox everyday to see the gorgeous and creative Christmas Cards people send! We are so thrilled to be a part of creating Christmas magic by offering Holiday cards to our clients. We’ve become known for them all over the country, and were honored to be included in today’s Wall Street Journal feature on creating fun cards the entire family loves participating in. Check out that photo in the center, it’s Springfield’s own Dondanville Family, a card we shot and designed for them. They did the pretty formal seated photo for mom….and then fulfilled the boys’ request to jump in the lake afterwards! Last week we spent a beautiful Thursday celebrating the efforts of Selvaggio Steel and Springfield Clinic in raising awareness of Breast Cancer. And when I say raising, I mean literally, as they erected the framework for the new Springfield Clinic building out of PINK steel! There was even a steel pink ribbon to sign in honor of breast cancer survivors, or those lost to breast cancer. It was a powerful event!
Acceptance and compassion towards others are key values everyone needs to hold close to them. We recently took some photographs for Illinois Kids First to promote National Bullying Prevention Month, which is in October. We proudly help them out and are very excited that the anti-bullying campaign will be used in 130 schools in Illinois! Check it out here or click the photo.
We have a new fluffy member of the Sarah Petty Photography family…..and her name is Lowla. She is the black and white puppy on top above! With that we’ve gained a renewed appreciation of our furry friends and have decided to have a pet photography event to benefit Springfield’s Animal Protective League! It’s been a BIG week for Sarah Petty Photography with the ground breaking of the new building, AND for our educational company The Joy of Marketing. Sarah Petty and business partner at TJOM Erin Verbeck have released their business and marketing book, Worth Every Penny. The book has debuted to rave reviews and has been enjoying top ten rankings on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.com. We love helping small business owners succeed and that is what this book is all about. The small business experience is hard for any big box store to beat!
Yesterday was a big day for Sarah Petty Photography and JH Petty and Assoc.! The official groundbreaking was held at the site of our new building, located here in Springfield IL. We are BEYOND excited to have a new gorgeous and functional studio to help us create the most fun photography around. I had the pleasure of meeting some inspirational leaders and I hope, life long friends recently in an event in California. Dr. Ken Druck and Lisette Omoss were sitting across from me at a dinner party in honor of the foundation started in honor of Druck’s daughter, Jenna. Jenna was killed in a tragic bus accident at 21 while studying in India in 1996. The Jenna Druck Center is a community that transforms lives of so many teens and families. I can’t even say enough about how inspired I was with what they are doing. They sent me home with shirts for my girls and I wanted to celebrate our new friendship and Jenna by creating some happy images. I hope you enjoy.
